The last dissection was just a warm-up, my curiosity started with this thread on PyroU with arguments about "350g cakes" and Matrix Pyro cited as an example. While not marked as a 500g cake, it is certainly rather large and heavy for a 200g. The tube spacing suggests it is built to the 500g standard as well, though there are plenty of 200g cakes that have separation between tubes.
[Note: Don't try this at home, I had a trained monkey do this while I watched video of the process from an underground bunker.]
You can see the primer and tail in the photo on the left, it was difficult to get it out without getting too much clay mixed in, but the one I weighed was around 2.6g.
The total weight of the lift, tail, break and effects of the one tube measured was 16.4g. The total composition weight of all 16 tubes (again not including fuses) was 269g. More than 200g, so it required the additional spacing and construction, but well short of 350g. It is a great cake regardless of the exact comp weight, so this and the previous dissection show that you shouldn't worry too much about the weight and focus on performance.
Next time I will be comparing two 16-shot cakes of different sizes, Deja Blue and Bada Bing, both by Boomer.
