New Years Eve 2007
Welcome to 2008! As I mentioned in my previous post I wasn't working on a show, but I had to have a few fireworks at least. I wanted to light a few more things from my current stash to show up the other people in the neighborhood, but had to save the rest of my stuff.
I fused together two Great Grizzly cakes, Royal Dragon and Night Probe, and lit those together just so I could have something. Royal Dragon was a little disappointing because the color breaks were a bit bare, but Night Probe was pretty good, I'm always a fan of angled cakes. (video below)
I'm from Seattle so I have to include the Space Needle story as well. Every year PyroSpectaculars does the shoot off the Space Needle. It is a very cool place to shoot from and a creative show, but I wish there were some shells, it is almost all candles and mines, maybe some smaller cakes as well. This year they had a computer error in the firing system that screwed this ups. The show started properly, then stopped, started again, stopped, and finally finished. They had to fire the whole thing manually so it was pretty sloppy, didn't match the music, went too long, and had a painfully slow petering out at the end. Whoops! I bet Seattle will get a good deal on next year's show... Story here, video here.
